Time Machine backup folder pops up every couple of minutesI have a MacBook Pro that is automatically backed up by Time Machine. Every couple of minutes the backup folder will pop up with the folder name "Backups.backupdb" If I close this window out it will appear a couple minutes later. Does anyone know how to disable this?

Hi,
How is the time machine drive connected to your computer? Is it directly connected by usb? If so it could be a dodgy connection?

IIRC the Time Capsule cannot be directly connected to the Mac via that USB connection. Its designed for a drive for printer to be attached there not a computer. The connection to the computer will either be via ethernet or wirelessly.

The OP didn't mention anything about using a TC for Time Machine, but you may well be right if he's doing so.

Haha no harm done there, hopefully the OP has taken away something from it that can help anyway

Well I appeared to have fixed it but using some code I found and copying it into Terminal. Thanks for all the replies though. Here was the code I used in case anyone is interested.
sudo defaults write com.apple.frameworks.diskimages auto-open-rw-root -bool false
Thanks again everyone
