Hello,

Having problems with my time machine backing up. The message says:

Time Machine couldn't complete the backup to "free agent go flex drive". Files can't be copies onto the backup disk because it appears t one read-only.

I don't know what to do to fix this and how to backup my laptop on my backup disk.

Thank you for your help.

Your drive is probably formatted for PCs in NTFS format. You will need to reformat the drive using Disk Utility and format it for GUID, Apple Extended format, then you can use Time Machine.

I have no idea what this question is doing in the iPad subforum. You might want to get the mods to move this to the correct forum.
