keyboard no working

i have a imac power g5 with 10.5.8 os x it have the key caps lock on but the imac won't recognize the keyboard and any key dont work so please i need help to fix it i don't have another keyboard right now and i need your help please so i can finish my thing today

processor 1.9 GHz
memory 1.5GB
version 10.5.8
and the keyboard aluminum model A1243

Which iMac do you have - year and model? Version of OS X it's running? And tell us which keyboard you have.

Go into Disk Utility and try running Repair Permissions, and if no better turn off, remove plug from mains and let it stand before booting with nothing attached. Then connect keyboard and mouse and see how you go.

Next advise is to buy another keyboard. G5's are getting long in the tooth.

Hang on to those original install discs like grim death! Using OS X.7 or later make a bootable USB thumb drive before running Installer!

i did repair and didn't work , restart the imac not working. when i try to use keyboard firmware update the computer is asking me to plug in and i have the usb in but in the keyboard i have the usb extras and is working i plug a flash memory and the imac read it but no the keyboard ? i dont know why and still the key caps lock on

Time for another keyboard. They do fail and yours is old alas.
