Replaced HD - using Mavericks. The Print option to send images to iPhoto is gone. I seem to recall this happening a couple of years ago after switching to some new OS, but I don't remember the fix.

What happens if you simply drag these image files into iPhoto's open window, or the iPhoto icon on the dock?

The message is:
"Unreadable files: 1
The following file could not be imported. The file is in an unrecognizable format."
