Apple has released an update for Mavericks Mail. 34MB download but takes a while installing.

Hang on to those original install discs like grim death! Using OS X.7 or later make a bootable USB thumb drive before running Installer!

Getting it now. I bet it has to do with the Gmail IMAP issues.

According to the blurb on App Store, it does.

Well all updated. Don't see any changes on my end as I was not having issues as I don't use Gmail IMAP. Hope someone with issues with Gmail will report in and see if this takes care of the issues.

All updated without a problem, I had deleted my Gmail account because of the problems with Mavericks. After the update I added my Gmail account back into Mail and I am pleased to say that so far so good, all the earlier problems seem to have been resolved, lets hope it stays that way
