Hi all!

I was wondering if torrent is illegal in belgium? And if it is illegal, what is the chance that you get caught?

Thanks!

Just using a torrent is not illegal anywhere.

It is illegal to "steal" or "pirate" commercial copyrighted content whether it is a regular old file you can download, make a copy from a friend or via a torrent.

And your only concern is to whether you'll get caught or not?

I cannot be held responsible for the things that come out of my mouth.

Using torrents to download freely available stuff is ok. Using it download movies that you KNOW is not freely available is illegal. We don't condone piracy here, so you might want think carefully before proceeding further with this discussion.

Uploading or Downloading commercial copyrighted material without the consent of the copyright owner - whether a book, music, video, software, etc. is illegal.

Want to know the chances of whether you'll get caught or not, call your local police dept and ask them about it.

And not "everybody" downloads movie torrents.
