I suddenly came up, 3 nights ago, with being asked for my password every time the computer slept or went to the screen saver and I came back after doing something else. This is a first. I am running Snow Leopard for the past few years.

I believe that all is well and am just wondering. It is a pain to get up and do something else then come back to type in the PW time and again. Any ideas? TC

That didn't get set by itself. If you don't want to enter a password to bring the machine out of sleep or screen saver, then change it from your System Preferences, Security, General options.
