O.K.

I have a 8 month old ibook, love this thing but still dont know all this stuff.

I just got a cd that has about 200 files on it. These are comic book reader files. I already have the program on my mac so I can read the files. I dont want to have to cary the disc around with me everywhere I go. I want to laod all of the files either on the desktop like I would on a pc, all in one file folder. Or I want to load it all in one entry in Docs. Is there an easy way of doing this instead of having to drag each file from the disc to the desktop? If not and I do have to drag each file over how do I group them all in one entry on the destop or Docs.

I hope I am being clear with what I am asking. Thanks for any help you can give me.

Load/Mount the CD and open it. Open another instance of finder and navigate to (or create if necessary) the "target" directory on the Mac drive. On the CD, highlight one file, and then press "command+A" (I'm a newbie too, but it's the key with the Apple logo on it). As in Windows, it will select all files. Drag to the "target" folder. I *think* that'll do it.

You can also…
hold down option key and then click and drag the cd icon to your target volume (or the desktop) the OS will create a folder with the name of the cd and copy all of the contents to it.

I don't know what tomorrow holds, but I know who holds tomorrow.
