OS 10.4 - No DVD drive, want tiger! Found solution! Need advice!

Ok, so I have no DVD Drive in my imac G3. I found this tiger oem cd verison on ebay for buy it now $40. It says "FOR EMACS ONLY!"

Will it still work? I heard from a source it will. Just want a confirm.

Sometimes the system discs for different macs will work in other ones as well...
Not always though.

The fact that this is a Tiger system disc (which normally only come in DVD form) would suggest that it is for an education-only emac. (That still can be ordered without a DVD drive).
So it might be specifically tailored for the edu market. (I'm assuming Appleworks & parts of iLife etc. are on there, so maybe they saved space by leaving out some other drivers that you might need.)
