Macbook Pro OSX Lion (10.7.5)

Last October a forum I visit everyday was attacked and the admin had to do something with IP addresses, I'm not sure what. Ever since that day I have not been able to connect to that site. The web address is thesamba.com. I have cleared cookies and caches in multiple browsers. I have downloaded new browsers. I bought access to a VPN. I stopped using my airport base station and started using the wireless that comes with the residential gateway from my Internet provider. I have gotten on other networks completely. None of these things has allowed me to connect to that site. My wife's macbook can connect to it just fine on our home network. So can my phone. I talked to the website admin and he is baffled. I did a tracer route:

Traceroute has started…

traceroute to TheSamba.com :: Volkswagen Classifieds, photos, shows, forums, and information (199.102.231.21), 64 hops max, 72 byte packets

11 samba.thesamba.com (199.102.231.21) 58.815 ms 57.242 ms 56.029 ms'

The browser says the connection is timing out, which is what the tracer route seems to show too.

Any thoughts on what could be going on? Thank you in advance.

I just tried it and can access the site immediately without any problem. You might want to take a look at your "hosts" file to make sure the web site didn't somehow wind up being blocked from there.

You might want to try resetting the DNS cache. Follow the instructions here to do so.

I checked the host file and nothing there looks unusual. There is not much there but some stuff for a couple of programs I use that I don't want communicating with the mothership. I reset the DNS cache as instructed to no avail.
