    hi mac forums
    i just bought a new 27" 3.2ghz imac it came with iphoto, garage band and all that free stuff..
    i booted on my mac and step after the other my mac was ready to use.. then i got a appstore popup saying i got 2 software updates (os update & iphoto update). i clicked on both of them to start installing. the first one updated then i got this message:

    {You have updates available for other accounts}
    {To update this application, sign in to the account you used to purchase it.}

    since i didn't buy the software it came pre installed on my can i update this software???

    That would be the Apple ID you used to register the Mac when you first turned it on during the setup process.
    I cannot be held responsible for the things that come out of my mouth.
    In the Windows world, most everything folks don't understand is called a virus.
