Mac Specs: 2010 27" iMac 16GB RAM, SSD & 1TB IHD (Lion) + 2013 27" iMac Fusion SSD & 3TB IHD, 32GB (Mavericks)

If I highlight a PDF for example, right click and select "Open With", it lists several examples of the same App.

For instance it offers: Preview, Color Sync Utility, Color Sync Utility, Evernote, Evernote, Kindle, Kindle, PDFpenPro, PDFpenPro (4 of them actually), then Preview (again) then Safari (twice) and so on.

Never had this before. I'm guessing, only guessing, that I am being offered these Apps from my IHD AND Time Machine?? But why 4 PDFpenPro.

I do use SuperDuper! as a further BU, but it's not mounted normally, only when I do my twice weekly cloned BU.

I'm running ML 10.8.3 on brand new 27 inch iMac with fusion drives.

Grateful for any help.

Ian

Way I fix that is to use Onyx - head for the Maintenance tab (I think that's it) and select the Launch Services box - think it's in the middle section there.

I cannot be held responsible for the things that come out of my mouth.

Oh bobtomay, why didn't I think of that?!! I've suggested OnyX to so many others.

Well, of course, it has done the job.

Thank you, once again, for your patient help & understanding.

I was just hoping I gave you the proper directions since I didn't have a Mac around.
