Hello, it's me with another random problem. I want to install Ubuntu on my iBook, so I need to partition my hard drive. The problem is that it won't me because the startup volume is on the main partition. Does anyone know of any free software that I can use to partition it without losing data?
Thanks in advance... Also, how large would the Ubuntu partition need to be? My total hard drive space is 55GB, about 35GB free. |

VolumeWorks should work, but its $50 for the download version.
If you have an external drive, I would just backup all your stuff to that then basically start over, delete the old, then partition it how you like and install OS X. Which isn't the easiest way but better than spending $50 on software that you'll use once. |
