This is the greatest thing ever.......

for some reason or another, I accidentally held down shift while I was minimizing a window and I saw one of the coolest but most pointless operations to date, on this computer or any for that matter. Try it out, its shift + minimize window.

Note: It only works if you hold down shift and click on the minimise button with the cursor. It doesn't work when using the keyboard shortcut.

it's trippy

Aptmunich 01-24-2006 08:37 AM

Same goes for expose, zoom, dashboard as well.

keithkid 01-24-2006 12:20 PM

Pretty cool.

whoriental 01-24-2006 02:12 PM

Do you think they actually have a point to that.

PowerBookG4 01-24-2006 03:45 PM

so you can be like yo check this out.. and minimize a window or activate expose, etc, and the windows user will be like wow thats awesome.. and then you can be like.. yo no in slow motion..

it also works by double-clicking on the top of the window to minimise, which I always do as opposed to using the minimise button :)

Try holding down the ctrl+shift key at the same time while minimizing the window... ;-)

NanoBite 01-28-2006 04:54 AM

This also works in reverse....eg: click the minimized windows icon in the Dock whilst holding down the shift key at the same time.... :biohazard

patberetta 01-28-2006 08:00 AM

Wow that really is pointless

pbook24 01-28-2006 03:31 PM

your all just discovering this now?

Mogzilla 01-29-2006 04:33 PM

Yeah, Actually I am.

Steve Jobs used that when he introduced OS X. The point was to show off the cool effect in slow-mo. It is that simple.

Open up Terminal and type:

killall Dock

Don't press enter yet, but keep Terminal and Safari open and CTRL+SHFT+Minimize Safari then quickly activate Terminal and hit enter to send the command.

Awesome.
