OS 10.3 - OS X install on Powerbook G3- Screen Issue

Hi,

I'm having a problem when trying to install OS X 10.3 on my Powerbook G3. It starts to boot to the CD but as doing so, the screen flickers and appears to go blank. Under good lighting though, you can see that it has finished booting to the CD. I don't know if its just the screen or what. It looks fine on an external monitor, so I'm assuming it's the screen? I just don't want to have it installed and still have the screen dark on the laptop.
any ideas?

thanks!

QUOTE Thanks
