I looked at my imac this morning and found the console message box opened and a black box with a warning AY 7:36. After I restarted and opened console messages located in the utilities folder in the applications folder I continued to find this message. It also appears in my dock at the bottom of the screen. What is this all about?

G'day and welcome to the forums.

Don't worry about it. This is the normal icon for Console. Go into Utilities and double click Console and you will see that icon in your Dock. Just close Console using the Quit procedure.

Hang on to those original install discs like grim death! Using OS X.7 or later make a bootable USB thumb drive before running Installer!
