Is it possible to include an SSD inside the iMac, for the late 2009 model, while retaining both the HDD and optical drive? If so, is there a guide to do this?

Many Thanks!

Nope.

Please verify and include the exact model/year of your Mac and OS X version number (available from "About This Mac", then "More Info" on the Apple menu).

Cheers, so if I just replace the HDD with a large SSD do you have any suggestions for what model and price I should go for?

Have found OWC Mercury SSD very reliable. Very difficult chore replacing drive with heat sensors.

Hang on to those original install discs like grim death! Using OS X.7 or later make a bootable USB thumb drive before running Installer!
