External hard disk acquisition addict - but admitting the problem is the first step to a robust backup

I was having issues with it (syncing) so I deleted it and was going to re-download it

Syncing issues are more likely to be the settings on you AppleID than anything else.

Did you delete it from the applications folder or just the dock?

Is it still in the trash?

Well I can get into Time Machine but I can't restore from ANY point in the past.
