os x tranparent windows?

Is it possible to make the windows on os x panther transparent? Similar to Jaguar? Does anyone know how I can do this? I am new to macs and am still learning. I know that there may be hacks but where would I go and look?

Unsanity provides most of those sort of programs, called "haxies." WindowShade X is the premier window-transparentizer. Get it here:
