I have a Macbook that was working fine until a friend of mine took out the hard drive and put it in her Macbook. It didn't work for her and she put it back in my Macbook. Now mine doesn't work either ... I get a flashing white light when I turn it on instead of the steady white light, and nothing appears on the screen. Help!!

You've probably just learned an expensive lesson.

My guess would be that the carrier tray has been damaged or forced or the drive isn't fully inserted. More information about specifically what model you have would be helpful.
