Password lock

When I try starting my mac book pro, I get a grey screen with a password lock. What do I do?? I bought my MacBook last month and am really diss appointed. I bought it in India and am presently in Nigeria where there are no service centres.. Kindly help

What kind of password lock? There are two kinds.... one asking for an admin password, the other asking for a firmware password. You can get around the admin password by booting the machine with the original install - recovery CD and resetting the password. The firmware password you can not get around.

Did you buy your MacBook used? Which MacBook did you buy, year and model?
