Error Code 8003 and tried all I know

I made the mistake of moving Backup files from time machine to the trash and now I get error code 8003. I can't delete the trash and I can't move the files back. I've tried TRASH IT which lets me erase non backup files but the backup files are still there and time machine still doesn't work. I tried in the finder "secure empty trash" and that didn't work. I'm stuck. Any help out there?

You provided us with no info about your system..... Were the Time Machine backup files you moved to the Trash located on your external hard drive?
