OS 10.4 - os 10. 2. 6 Password

Hi there, i am trying 2 install some new software on my mac. I can't recall my password, i've got my user details, but the os wants my password to install new software.

what can i do to retrieve my password, or is there a little crack that i can apply to over write it?????????

Any info would be helpfull

You will need to boot your system from 10.2 install media and then reset your pass word. There is an option to reset the pass word under the install menu.
