imac won't start

3 day old imac will not start...nothing happens when I push the power button. Lights are on the surge protector and the power cord is plugged in.

First up disconnect the surge protector and plug directly into the wall try that. Suggestion 2 if no joy try another power point. Third back to the Apple Store or Genius Bar pronto.

Using OS X.7 or later make a bootable USB thumb drive before running Installer!*
