Hiya,
We all know the system wide dictionary is excellent, but us Brits we find it difficult to harbor warm thoughts for the lack of u's and other letters in words, so much so it can make our skin turn a funny color as we realize that the spell checker has turned us all American :flower:So how can we teach our Mac to realise we live the other side of the pond, to restore our colour, and make our Mac a little more Brit friendly so we can once again harbour those warm thoughts? :flower: Anyway enough messing with you, here's how. it seems really tucked out the way and some of you may know this but no seaching on Google availed the answer. So here we go: 1.) Open Text Edit (/Applications) 2.) Go to the Edit > Spelling > Spelling... menu or press Command + : 3.) At the bottom is a drop down box, click and select from the list the language want such as British English, Canadian English, Australian English, French etc. Dead handy eh? And this doesn't set it just for Text Edit -- it sets it system wide. Hopefully this will help someone! :flower: Vicky |
