Hello, I am new to forums so please forgive me if I make some mistakes. I have a mid-2007 iMac with OS X 10.7, and have updated my memory to 3 GB. I have a 2.4 GHz Intel core 2 duo processor.

I have never used my Mac as a "PC" before, and it actually sounds kind of icky. But I have a client who is using Intuit point-of-sale and I need to help her with this. Point-of-sale is not available for Mac, but can I load her copy of it into my Mac while pretending my Mac is a PC. I know I sound stupid, but this is new to me.
Thank you in advance for your thoughts and help,
jonathan

I think that you may be a little mixed up. A "Mac" is a "PC". The abbreviation "PC" stands for "Personal Computer". A Macintosh is a personal computer.

Maybe what you mean is...you've never run the Windows OS on a Macintosh. Which can be done in a couple ways.

- via BootCamp
- Via emulation (Parallels or VMware Fusion

And just in case it wasn't clear - you install the emulation/virtualization or dual booting software, then you must install Windows on your Mac before you can run Windows application software.
