I got a laptop top off eBay And has no os please help ?

How do I get an operating system foe my new laptop and can just download one???

The seller says
This laptop is tested to boot to BIOS, it does not have an operating system.


what does that mean please help
I don't understand computers and there system .

Going to need more info...such as...what model laptop is it? Without this info...it's very difficult to recommend an OS version & where to buy it.

Given Macs don't have BIOS, I don't see how they could have booted to it anyway. I'd be very wary of this offer ...

It means the seller has a PC to sell, not a Mac. If you posted this in the wrong forum, let us know. But as chas stated above, a Mac does not have or use a BIOS.

Like others have asked, is this a Mac Laptop? If so, can you give us a model at least?

On the Bios issue, a lot of ebay people are clueless about Macs and say Bios instead of EFI Firmware. I do agree though, you really can't boot into the Firmware just turning it on. You would get a screen with a blinking Apple.

Do you have possession of this laptop? What happens when you power it on?

More info please especially if it's a Mac and if so what model is it?
