Hi All
Please can you advise me on getting my old G4 dual running Freehand 8 on Leopard 10.5.8
I have started a new job and need a vector drawing package and cannot get to grips with Illustrator
The pain is that at the moment I have to dual boot the mac into OS9 to run freehand and then reboot into 10.5 to do all the other things i require
Researching on net it seems that people have got freehand working on 10.5 but it seems i require Rosetta. Is this true? I have a Power PC
I have X operating disc with a 10.5 upgrade disc and dont see Rosetta on them so do i need to get a new OP disc
If this is the case then then can i use Snow Leopard as those discs are easier to purchase and cheaper
Your help appreciated

Rosetta is for Intel Macs to run PowerPC programs, so is not needed on your G4

The last OS that supported Classic mode (running OS 9 apps in OSX) was Tiger 10.4

Snow Leopard will not run at all on a G4 or G5

You would be best getting Freehand MX, try finding it on ebay

Thanks for the assistance and just to be clear im going to list it out as it is
My Mac Dual 867 Power PC running 10.5.8 Leopard
Loaded Freehand 8 which wont run as it sez "Classic
Environment Not Supported" so I had to run in dual boot OS 9.2
To get it to run in 10.5.8 you recommend I purchase Freehand MX which will load and
run in 10.5.8 without Rosetta
Is this correct
Thanks
