It seems that both of my USB ports are recognized by the MAC. But, even after trying several different devices (all work on the first USB port) and installing the relevant Mac Combo Package (as recommended by a friend), it just doesn't work!

Please can someone help?

Many thanks in advance.

Also to add, the USB device which doesn't work, powers up USB devices but my Mac just doesn't seem to notice the devices.

Are you trying to use a USB HUB on the port that you say isn't working? How about removing it and try another device? Does that work?

I have used various devices. A USB hub, a USB mobile modem and USB sound card which all work on the known working USB port but none work on the other.

Thanks for the reply
