Any way to Merge emails into one conversation

I run Lion 10.7.3 and use related messages as a conversation. Quite often, I receive emails from "John Smith" which have a different Subject, but relate indirectly to other emails from the same person. They show as separate conversations.

Is there any way to Merge various emails from the same person, but with different Subjects, into one conversation?
