Rosetta not working

I just installed snow leopard 10.6.8 from tiger and I can't get Rosetta to work. I reinstalled off Apple disks...... no luck,just a bouncing icon for a couple seconds.

What is bouncing. You cant launch Rosetta on its own, it only kicks in when you launch a PowerPC only app on an Intel Mac

Agreed with Louis. Are you trying to run Rosetta all by itself? If so, it will not run. Launch a Power PC Application. Does that work?

Thans for responding. I was trying to launch Roxio Jam, which is a power PC and OSX software. when I launch Jam the Icon in my dock bounces a couple times then quits.

I was running Jam before on Tiger. when I moved to Snow leopard , the first tim I launched it it said " Jam requires rosetta,would you like to install it. " I did no luck

Generally the first time you use an Application that requires Rosetta one gets the little message box asking if you want to install it. Have a look at this link:-

I did get that message box. i clicked "YES" ... It said installation sucsesful. When it still didnt work I installed Rosetta from my Install disk. Still just a bouncing Icon in dock
