    Unlocking System Prefs?
With OS 10.4 how can I avoid having to click the padlock when I want to make changes to the system prefs?

    Thanks in advance.

In the Security tab of System Prefs there should be an option for requiring an administrative password to unlock system prefs. Make sure it's unchecked.
