Macintosh HD icon

Somewhere along the line I lost the desktop Icon for the "Macintosh Hard Drive" so I was wondering if anyone could tell me how to reinstall it to the desktop.
This is my first posting.

Open the Finder. Select "Preferences" from the top menu, then select the "General" tab. Place a check in the box that says "Hard Disks" under the title "Show these items on the desktop".
