Hi. This is my first time on here and i can really use some help please.

When i started my mac this morning, i noticed that i kept getting ads playing. I closed all programs and restarted my mac, hoping that the problem would go away. But even before i started any programs, the ads keep playing every few minutes.

I did a virus scan and it said that there are no infected files.

I dont know where they are playing from and i figure that there must be a virus or malware on my mac but i cant locate it to fix it.

Can anyone help me out or tell me what i can do.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

G'day and welcome to the forums.

Of course the scan would find nothing as there are no Mac OS X viruses. Have you installed a program such as the notorious MacKeeper lately? Also open your browser preferences and empty the cache and reset.

Hang on to those original install discs like grim death! Using OS X.7 or later make a bootable USB thumb drive before running Installer!
