I am developing a application on MAC, which will send a notifaction to the User , If any USB pen driver is connected to that machine..my Application will send a message to the USER.
So i would like to know, how can i detect , whether the USB drive is connected with my machine or not?..
Thanks in advance.

G'day and welcome to the forums.
When you connect the pen drive, it will appear on the desktop. If it does not go into Finder > Preferences and make sure the 'Show these items on my Desktop' are selected.Hang on to those original install discs like grim death! Using OS X.7 or later make a bootable USB thumb drive before running Installer!
