When I try to install software downloaded from the internet, such as antivirus or microsoft office, I am told that the "folder is not writable". Help would be much appreciated.

At what point are you getting this error?

What Mac do you have and which version of OSX?

What " folder " are you talking about ?

Do you have permission to write to that " folder " ( right click on the folder / Get Info and at the bottom of that small window are your permissions )
Post a print screen if you are in doubt.

Cheers ... McBie

The problem is not the problem. The problem is your attitude towards the problem. You understand ?
