Mac Mad can only hope to improve

I am having to reinstall lion it say it will be 5hours 17 mins and it about 1/5-1/6 completed is this a normal time

The time depends on:

The Speed of your Internet connection.

The route to the server where Lion is located from your location and also how many people are on that same server downloading Lion at the time you are.

When Lion came out I was using 3MB AT&T DSL and it took me around 2-2.5 hours. Now with 6MB DSL it takes me probably 1/2 that time but again it really depends on the load on the server and things down the line on the way to the server.
