Help with migration assistant

basically bought a new macbook pro which ive already set up. so ive updated migration assistant and tryed to copy my itunes and iphoto library over, but when ive went through the process and chose the file i want, it says i need to rename my old user account before transfering or i can not transfer the user account. i chose the later and nothing copied over. does this mean i have to have two user accounts on my new macbook if i want them copied over. or is there away around this or am i not making any sense.
Also first time round i chose to do it wirelessly which takes hours so i got an etherent cable but now the option part doesnt show up and it just assumes i want it done wirelessly, how do i change this.
Thanks in advance.

Take a look at this; it should help.
The problem is probably that you already set up a user account BEFORE using Migration asst, so it wants to create a new one. It's usually best when setting up a new machine to use the Setup Asst, the thing that runs when you first turn on the computer. I know, confusing, but Migration Asst is designed to not overwrite an existing account.
