    I have no AVAIL..
    My son purchased a new mac and gave em his 07 pro, I want to re-image it and start over like new.. I know he had windows xp on it and he claims mac never ran right since the install of xp.. I just want to start over. I have disks

    pop the restore disk in.

    Restart while keeping the C key pressed to boot from the optical drive

    When the installer screen appears select Disk Utility from the Utilities in the top menu

    Reformat the main drive (not each partition) to Mac OS Extended (Journaled) with Disk Utility

    Quit disk Utility and return to the install screen.

    Continue with a fresh install of OSX
