Hello. New here.

I have just noticed something new in my Finder window located in the Shared volumes menu. There's this volume called "valued-65bad02c" trying to connect - it doesn't so far - but I can't figure out what it is and how to get rid of it. I did an internet search and found a couple of references where it showed up on windows machines - but nothing was mentioned about it being malicious. As far as I know I don't want it on my MBP. It only shows up in the window when Airport is on, goes away as soon as I turn airport off.

Can someone enlighten me? Any help is appreciated!

Thanks.
Dave

Aha! Thank you. You helped me identify the culprit. A friend is staying with me and now I realize that he keeps his Windows machine wirelessly connected all the time...

Will this show up anytime a windows pc is connected to my LAN?

Thanks much...my mind can rest easy about it now.

Cheers!
