Right now I can't get any new browsers etc. If I upgrade to 10.5.8 what is the newest Firefox, Safari and Microsoft Office can I get?24" iMac 2.8GHz Intel Core 2 Duo | 4GB | 500GB 7200RPM | Radeon HD 2600 Pro | 8x SuperDrive | OS X 10.8.5 (Mountain Lion)

1. Office 2008 as the newer 2011 is for Intel machines.
2. Safari will be installed using operating system install and by using Software Update will go to version 4.0.5.
3. Firefox 4 but be aware Firefox has stopped support for Leopard. No doubt this trend will continue as the now +four year old operating system ages further.
You did post earlier and remember about getting the black full retail install DVD. No silver grey discs as they will not install.Hang on to those original install discs like grim death! Using OS X.7 or later make a bootable USB thumb drive before running Installer!
