Finder - How to know total size of selected folders ?

Hi there, hope this post is in the right spot... Well, I have been trying to get Finder to inform the total size of a selected group of folders and so far I have not succeded. For instance, in the Status Bar Finder informs the number of folders selected, but it does not tell the size of the selection, only the available spale in the Hard Disk. Any suggestions on how to generate this information ?

Have you tried selecting a closed folder and then either press Command + I simultaneously or choosing Get Info from the file menu. Don't select a file inside the folder or you will get the information for that file only.

If the folder contains a large number of files and folders the Get Info may take some time to report the size.

I do that when I need to know the amount of space corresponding to all the files inside that specific folder. The problem arises when I want to know the total amount of space corrresponding to multiple selected folders. If I select multiple folders and use the "get info" command, all I get is multiple windows, each corresponding to one of the selected folders. Up to now, I did not manage to get the consolidated information regarding the total amount of space corresponding to the multiple selection...

Highlight the folders. Go to Edit.
Look for Get Info.
Now hold down the Option key.
Get Info changes to Show Inspector.
Pick that. It will show you the total size of all selected folders.

Sorry I did not include that in the earlier post. After I posted I thought that might be what you wanted to know. You can do as ToMACsh suggested or select the folders then press Command+Option+I simultaneously.

Yeah, but that's not as cool as watching all those things change in the drop down.

Yeah that is cool. I had forgotten about it since I usually use the keyboard shortcut.
