Is it possible to put the backlight at zero with a hotkey? (MacBook) And then bring it back up quickly?

And will someone do my laundry if I give you a really great back scratcher?

Mac Specs: 2008 and 2011 15" mbps, late 11 iMac, iPhone 4s, and too many ipods and other stuff

You can use a hot corner to put the display to sleep. System Preferences > Mission Control
