Recently made the switch to iMac. One problem is that web page downloads can be excruciatingly slow (1 minute for NY Times home page.) Meanwhile my PC laptop working on the same router/cable modem downloads the page in a second or two. Safari seems to be the worst offender, but Chrome or Firefox are only somewhat better.

Could this be a security issue buried somewhere in the OS?

Thanks in advance for any help.
QUOTE Thanks
