Os x 10.5.8

i am new at the IMac thing. I have a IMac with OS X 10.5.8. Here are my questions: The machine has OS X is it snow leopard, Lion not sure what animal it is

Can i update this OS to a newer one? Is this the end of the line for this machine and a OS update. I wanted to have IPhoto work with the Icloud, tried to update my Iphoto to 9.x and it does not support the OS 10.5.8. Help Thx...

That is Leopard and you really need to list your model and year iMac for a more accurate response.

Is this an Intel or Power PC Mac? Can you give us some specs?

OS 10.5 = Leopard
OS 10.6 = Snow Leopard
OS 10.7 = Lion

Since your iMac has an Intel "core duo" cpu...the maximum OS you can upgrade to is OS 10.6.8.

OS 10.7 requires at least a "core 2 duo" cpu...which you do not have. So no Lion.
