Clean install?

I have upgraded my mini late 09' to Lion and it lags and it is slowish so I will buy additional RAM (8GB RAM) after Xmas but I wonder would fresh installation help in speeding a little bit?

G'day and welcome to the forums.

There are many reports of lagging Lion in laptops and Minis which a clean install has improved. Did you burn Lion to a thumb drive prior to running the Installer? If not you can go into the App Store, hold down the Option key and hit purchases and download another copy with charge.

Did it help in speeding .
The answer is Yes and NO .
How do you use you're MAC .
As a example how full is hard drive .
Did you often delete very large files
Did you maintain you're system and so on
If you google for it you will find a lot of tricks to speed up you're MAC .

Well my optic drive is broken so I have external drive and Lion burned on DVD. I use my mini 0/24 for multimedia mostly but I work on Photoshop CS5 with Wacom tablet (I am designer) on rather large dimensions of canvas so it lags when I paint and so... I use CleanMyMac frequently so I guess my sistem is maintained. Trash can is always empty

BUT that umbrella shows too much for my taste...

PS. I must say that I have habbit to try apps so I installed and deinstalled like 100000 apps...

They really do have an extremely high failure rate those slot loaders. And get rid of CleanMyMac right now it is crapware. Download and use Onyx instead.

Then fresh install it is. And no more CMM. I will use Maintainance app instead. Thanks, I will post here about improvement.
