I am new to mac and just found out today that my external HD will not copy/backup to the Time Capsule. Mac help tells me it only takes care of internal HD. So I purchased a second external to b/u the 1st. Started copying files, it takes a long time of course. I had to do other work and the machine was really slow, no surprise. So, I decided to stop the copy with the idea that I could just resume it later. It's now been nearly an hour and I have the bar indicating 'stopping' copying. Does it really take this long to stop or might it be hung? I tried ejected both the HD but it won't let me with the notice 'currently in use'. Tried a restart and that won't let go either. Should I force a shutdown or might this damage the HDs?
