Stop network disconnecting when screen locked

Hi,

I use OpenVPN a lot to SSH into our corporate servers. However, when I lock the screen the network disconnects, resulting in the OpenVPN tunnel dropping which in turn kills all my SSH sessions.

Is there somewhere where I can keep the network online all the time?

I'm using Lion (10.7.1)
