My Spotlight hasn't been working for a few months. It just keeps searching with no results. Under Activity Monitor it shows that MDS is running very high, around 95+. I've tried Repairing Disk Permissions, but this did nothing.
I'm using a 2008 unibody Macbook with Leopard. I was going to upgrade to Snow Leopard so I can access the App Store. Does anyone know if upgrading to Snow Leopard will fix my Spotlight problem? I would like to do a clean install if possible. Thanks! |

Is there a way to only backup applications and settings with Time Machine (not backup my files - photos, music, etc.)? I would prefer to manage files my own way. |
