Can't burn DVDs on my Macbook Pro (OS10.5.8) using Toast 8 or the Mac built in DVD burn app. I get error code "Burning to disc failed because communication to disc failed (error code 0x80020022). Used 6 Sony DVD+R discs and all failed. Can someone help?

How old is the Pro (in both cases).
It could well be that the disc drive has failed, or it needs a good clean.
